EveryKid School Readiness Program in Parramatta.
Some kids are super ready to start Kindergarten and others just need a little prep to feel confident. We totally understand this as we work with these kids every day. We’ve developed a program specifically for kids entering big school that is tailored towards their needs so that when the big day comes, they (and you!) feel less daunted and more excited. What the program includes:
Simulating the first few days of school - packing the bag, eating recess together, doing class work
Parents drop off and pick up: practicing a smooth departure
Class of up to 8 kids with 2 Therapists
4 days - July School Holidays
$775 total, NDIS & private health fund welcome, must attend all 4 days
Skills we’ll focus on:
Sitting tolerance (for school work)
Attention span - attention and listening skills
Pre-academics - matching, sorting, naming
Prewriting skills
Social skills - waiting, turn taking, sharing, greeting
Following instructions & responding to school routines
Morning preparation: putting on shoes and socks and wearing bag
Language skills: understanding information and expression
Executive functioning skills: planning and organising
Example of schedule:
Day 1: Theme: Animals
9am Parent drop off
Orientation: greeting song / day of the week / weather / feelings and school schedule and theme discussion
Pre-academics: Mat man - body awareness, drawing, pre writing and shadow matching
Recess: Opening food, sitting as a class, socialising
Prewriting: colouring and tracing
10:30am Parent pick up & hand over

We understand with work commitments and holidays that you might not be able to attend the school readiness program, so we’ve created a parent prep online school readiness course, to relieve your worries and leave you feeling in charge come that first school drop off.
Get clued up and confident for the start of school with our 2 hour parent prep course (1 hour if you like to consume in double time ;) ) which includes activity pack downloads. Join our Paediatric Speech Pathologist (a trained primary school teacher!) and Paediatric Occupational Therapist as they share their knowledge and practical tips on how to support your little one starting Kindergarten.
Modules include:
1. Introduction (2 min)
2. Speech skills: speech sounds & expected milestones + strategies for clear speech (6 min)
3. Language skills: expected abilities for 4 & 5 year olds + activity ideas (10 min)
4. Early literacy skills: reading & writing + practical tips & phonological awareness activity pack (5 min)
5. Fine motor skills: foundations, pencil grip, cutting, functional hand use + activities for home (27 min)
6. 7. Social, emotional, sensory skills (45 min)
7. Dressing, toileting, recess & lunch, sleep routine, transition to school + tips to support (33 min)
8. Conclusion: Start check off the check list (2 min)
